Our
purpose is to advance
education for the public benefit by the promotion and presentation of
musical
performances and the encouragement of the arts, and to present,
promote,
organise, provide and manage such concerts or other musical
entertainment as
are conducive to the advancement of education or the enjoyment of the
arts.
Chiltern
Music-live! is committed to explode any myth
that classical
music is
elitist or boring, and to bring the highest standards of classical
musical
performance and education to the part of England in which its
members live and work. It was founded and is directed by
internationally-renowned
musicians who
- provide
low-cost. world-class performances in the local
area
- are
pro-active
in the education of the region's young musicians
- actively
encourage the region's adult, amateur musicians
- regularly
commission
new works by living composers
Chiltern
Music - live! is
based around the town of
Chesham in
the Chiltern Hills and is
a member
of Making
Music (the
National Federation of
Music Societies).
