Many of the players in CYCO have won prestigious local competitions and most are also members of other orchestras including the Bucks County Youth Orchestra, the National Children's Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra.

CYCO has 40 members, ranging in age from 12 to 18.

The orchestra performs two concerts each year, performing challenging music to a very high standard, as evidenced by their reviews.

Chiltern Youth Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Peter Hanson, leader of the internationally renowned Eroica Quartet and of Sir John Eliot Gardiner's Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique.

Other local, professional players who coach the Orchestra include Jayne Spencer, Rachael Maguire, Caroline Maguire and Katie Heller who are all members of leading London orchestras.
